Our students participate in international tournaments

Liepaja Tennis Sport school students in January participated in two “Tennis Europe” tournaments, which took place in Lithuania and Estonia.January 8th – 14th in Lithuanian city Siauliai took place “Toyota Cup 2018 ” for U14. Liepaja was represented by Dāvis Rolis, Dāvids Špaks, Enija Paula Aploka, Evelīna Ķīvīte and Karolīna Skābe. Dāvids Špaks unfortunately lost in last round of qualifiers, but Dāvis Rolis couldn’t overcome the 1st round of Main draw. In girls competition our girls couldn’t manage to qualify to Main draw.Dāvis Rolis and Dāvids Špaks participated in Doubles, where in the game for Semifinal they lost with 1-6 0-6 to pair from Poland.

January 15th – 21st in Estonian city Narva took place “Narva Cup” for U14. Liepaja was represented by Dāvis Rolis, Enija Paula Aploka and Evelīna Ķīvīte. Dāvis Rolis couldn’t get over the 1st round of Main draw, but Enija Paula Aploka and Evelīna Ķīvīte managet to win in Qualifiers, but in the 1st round of Main draw both girls lost.

2017 season conclusion celebration for U10 tennis players

Young tennis players (U10 age group) from Liepaja, concluded the season of 2017 by visiting beach center “Brazīlija” in Riga, where Latvian Tennis Union organized season conclusion celebration.

Already for the 7th year, LTU has a tradition for young tennis players from all Latvia to come together and have a great evening by participating in different sports activities and award ceremony. Prizes received not only best players, but other players as well.

This year celebration theme was circus. During the evening children were entertained by various circus artists and took part in various circus activities. Every year the best mask owner is awarded. This year in girls competition best mask award received Liepaja Tennis Sport school student Ketlina Arone.

In 2018 we wish a lot of power and succes for the young Liepaja Tennis Sport school students and a lot of patience and endurance for their parents!

Holiday greetings from Latvian champions

Davis Rolis takes 2nd place in Tennis Europe tournament

November 25 to December 3 in Lithuanian Capital Vilnius took place international Tennis Europe tournament “Vilnius Tennis Academy Cup 2017” for U12 age group. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Enija Paula Aploka and Dāvis Rolis.In the 1st round of girls competition Enija Paula Aploka with 6-1 6-2 won over Simona Legacinskaite (Lithuania). In 2nd round Enija in intense game won over Adel Pilosyan (Russia). In Quarterfinal Enija Paula Aploka with 4-6 0-6 lost to Hanna Tsitavets (Belarus).In the 1st round in boys competition Dāvis Rolis with smashing 6-0 6-0 won over Denis Struk (Lithuania). In 2nd round Dāvis continued with an easy win with 6-2 6-1 over Denis Maijorov (Estonia). In Quarterfinal with 6-0 6-4 Dāvis won over Tikhon Fedorov (Belarus). In the game for getting into the Final Dāvis Rolis in intense game with 6-7(7) 6-4 7-5 could win over Artur Yurkevich (Belarus). In Final Dāvis Rolis competed against Maxim Zhukov (Russia) and lost with 0-6 1-6. At the end Dāvis Rolis in international Tennis Europe tournament got 2nd place.In Doubles Enija Paula Aploka playing together with Ksenija Raģe (Latvia), lost into the Quarterfinal, but Dāvis Rolis in pair with Daniels Tens (Latvia) got into the Semifinal.

Evelina Kivite wins in Riga

November 25 and 26 in Riga took place “Event Lab / Enri balvu izcīņa” for U14. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Evelīna Ķīvīte.In 1st round Evelīna had an easy win over Katrīna Gorkuša (Enri TK) with 6-2 6-0. In 2nd round with 6-3 6-2 she won over Nikola Nikolajeva (Biedrība Teniss Rīgā). In intense Semifinal game against Elīna Ogaņesova (LSNT Akadēmija) with 1-6 6-3 7-6(4) Evelīna granted her place in Final, where she had to compete against Emīlija Sausverde (Rīgas Satiksmes TK). With 6-1 6-3 Evelīna Ķīvīte took the 1st place in the tournament.

From Ādaži with Silver

In the last weekend of November in Ādaži took place two tournaments for the young tennis players.

November 25 took place “TC Ādaži Minhauzena kauss” for U8 and U9. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Olivers Arons, Orests Ronis, Timo Bertrams Tikums and Karolīna Lāce.In U8 Olivers Arons took 8th place overall. But in U9Orests Ronis finished 11th, meanwhile Timo Bertrams Tikums – 18th. In U9 for girls Karolīna Lāce finished 15th.

November 26 took place “TC Ādaži Wilson kauss” for U10. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Bogdans Kozlovs, Laura Kristiāna Sprūde and Anastasija Lomovska.

In boys competition Bogdans Kozlovs won all opponents in Subdivision, but in the overall Final he lost, so Bogdans Kozlovs finished 2nd overall.

In girls competition Laura Kristiāna Sprūde finished 9th, while Anastasija Lomosova finished 13th.

From Jelgava with double victory

November 4 and 5 in Jelgava took place tournament for U18 age group. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Valerijs Vorobjovs and Alise Vindiga.

Valerijs Vorobjovs easy could manage to get into the Final, where with 7-6(2) 6-3 he won over Markuss Tions (Tennis Pro Academy). So Valerijs Vorobjovs took 1st place in the tournament.Alise Vindiga, similar as Valerijs, could manage to get into the Final with ease, where with 6-2 6-4 she won over Laura Slišāne (ACB/VL Tenisa skola). So Alise Vindiga took the 1st place in the tournament and together with Valerijs Vorobjovs brought back to Liepaja to Gold medals.

In Riga wins Gold

November 5, in Riga took place “Tennis 4 Fun balvas izcīņa” tournament for U9 age group. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Timo Bertrams Tikums, Orests Ronis, Paula Gurecka and Karolīna Lāce.In boys competition Orests Ronis finished 7th, but Timo Bertrams Tikums finished 4th.

In girls competition Karolīna Lāce finished 5th, meanwhile Paula Gurecka could manage to get into the Final, where she succeeded, so at the end Paula Gurecka took the overall victory in the tournament.

Liepaja supported Ostaponko in Singapore

Liepaja Tennis Sport school former students Andrejs Koļesins (coahc Edgars Ernestsons) and Dace Koļesina (former Mežniece) (coach Biruta Porcika) participated in Aļonas Ostapenko mother and coach (former Liepaja Tennis Sport school students (coach Biruta Porcika)), Jeļena Jakovļeva official dellegation who visited Singapore to support Aļona in WTA Finals last game. Aļona is the first Latvian tennis player in history who participated in WTA seasons conclusion tournament, where competes only 8 best tennis players in world.In the last game Aļona had to play against her subdivision winner Karolina Pliskova from Czech republic. We are happy that our support with flags of Latvia and Liepaja could help to Aļona to show the best game in winning with 6/3, 6/1. With this win Aļona concluded this years season with the best result of Latvian tennis players in WTA ranked 7th in the world. We wish Aļona And Jeļena successful next season!Aļona Ostapenko mother is from Liepaja and in her youth trained in Liepaja Tennis Sport schoo, where in her childhood Aļona spend her summers training and participating in tournaments.
