From Ventspils with three medals

August 26 and 27 in Ventspils took place “Ventspils balvas izcīņa” (Ventpils Prix) for U10 age group. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Bogdans Kozlovs, Matīss Ozoliņš-Pese, Sabīne Vaidere, Alise Latiša, Anastasija Lomovska, Daniela Krušatina and Anna Azarova.In boys competition Matīss Ozoliņš-Pese took 5th place overall, but Bogdans Kozlovs finished in 2nd place overall and took Silver.

In girls competition Daniela Krušatina finished 10th overall, Sabīne Vaidere – 7th and Alise Latiša – 5th. Anastasija Lomovska and Anna Azarova managed to get into the Semifinals. Anastasija Lomovska won 3rd place overall, but Anna Azarova took the victory of the tournament and took 1st place and Gold!

“Ferax” gifts innovative equipment to Liepaja Tennis Sport school

In the beginning of new study year, by recognizing the good results of Liepaja Tennis Sport school students, enterprise “Ferax” has decided to gift to Liepaja Tennis Sport school an innovative training process equipment – specialized tennis ball collectors. With this kind of equipment, the training process will be made easier and as well it will modernize Liepaja Tennis Sport school equipment. In addition to the gift, “Ferax” has decided to support the 2017 Liepaja Summer championship for U18, U14 and U12 age groups.Liepaja Tennis Sport school thanks to “Ferax”, especially to Andrejs Žukovs for the beginning of successful collaboration and we wish that it will continue and develop.

In Liepaja will take place ITF Juniors tournament “Venden Cup Liepaja 2017”

September 2-8 in Liepaja Tennis Sport school tennis courts will take place ITF Juniours tournament “Venden Cup Liepaja 2017”.Tournament will begin with qualifiers on September 2 and 3, but on September 4 will begin the Main Draw. In the tournament will participate tennis players from 15 countries – Sweden, Latvia, Norway, Russia, France, Belarus, Lithuania, Finland, Estonia, Poland, Ireland, Great Britain, Armenia, Ukraine and Australia.In the Main draw of “Venden Cup Liepaja 2017” Liepaja Tennis Sport school will be represented by Rebeka Margareta Mertena, Patrīcija Špaka and Elza Tomase, but the tournament in qualifiers will begin Signija Stībele, Paula Jankova, Karolīna Skābe and Valerijs Vorobjovs.

“”Vega 1″ beach volleyball and tennis league” beach tennis season 2017 has concluded

August 16 in Liepaja beach took place ““Vega 1” beach volleyball and tennis league” conclusion of year 2017 – 5th leg for men and women pairs. At women competition participated 20 participants making 10 pairs, but in men competition participated 34 participants – 17 pairs.Women were divided in 2 subdivisions and in the Final got Elīna Zīverte and Ilze Sermole, and Kitija Kļaveniece together with Marta Pagraba. In Final with 6-1 won Elīna Zīverte and Ilze Sermole. In 2nd place Kitija Kļaveniece and Marta Pagraba, in 3rd place Gita Karule and Aija Kalnīte.Men were divided in 4 subdivisions, in Final Round got Andris Karulis with Raivo Špaks, Gints Siliņš with Mārtiņš Krūms, Ģirts Antonovs with Elans Zīverts and Renārs Kaupers with Elans Strazdiņš. In Final Round 1st place took Ģirts Antonovs with Elans Zīverts, in 2nd place – Gints Siliņš with Mārtiņš Krūms and in 3rd place Renārs Kaupers with Elans Strazdiņš.““Vega 1” beach volleyball and tennis league” 5th leg was the Final leg of 2017. Champion in Women competition became Elīna Zīverte, overall 2nd place took Gita Karule, but 3rd place took Marta Pagraba. Liepāja senior tennis team for 5th year in a row triumphs in Latvian club team championship

Saturday, August 19, Liepaja senour tennis team in 35+ triumphed in Latvian club team championship highest league. This was already 5th victory in a row, this time by winning in Final against LĀTS/Mārupe TS. Overall Liepaja team has played in Final 7 years in a row, only in 2012 finished 2nd.35+ age group team is founded in 2011 and the tennis players are former Liepaja Tennis Sport school students. This year team finished 1st in subdivision, but in Semifinal won over ACB/VL Tenisa Skola team in Liepaja courts was taken.“Big part of the team is not living in Liepaja, but each year we are proudly representing our hometown flag and represent Liepaja in Latvia and in European championship. Team success is a good model for new tennis players, they can see, that you can play tennis at all ages,” explains team captain Andrejs Koļesins.Team is very thankful to Liepaja city hall and sport department for the support. The team is full of commitment to represent Liepaja in various competitions. Next tournament is planned already in early October, when the team will participate at European club championship in Mallorca, even thou the team still is looking for additional support and funding.

August 13 to 19 in Riga took place “LR Jauniešu čempionāts 2017” (Latvian Junior championship 2017) for U12, U14, U16 and U18 age groups. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented in U12 – Dāvis Rolis, Ričards Špaks, Kristians Lasmanis, Didzis Vārna, Gustavs Pagrabs, Enija Paula Aploka and Kristiana Lagzdiņa (qualification), in U14 – Dāvids Špaks, Kārlis Vēberis, Evelīna Ķīvīte, Paula Jankova (qualification), Karolīna Skābe (qualification), Anastasija Rižkova (qualification) and Elizabete Deglava (qualification), in U16 – Renārs Grodskis, Elza Tomase, Patrīcija Špaka, Alise Vindiga and Veronika Zalcmane, in U18 – Justs Jakovļevs, Matīss Šteinhards, Rebeka Margareta Mertena, Signija Stībele and Dinija Ramanauska.In U12 for boys Dāvis Rolis won bronze.In U12 for girls Enija Paula Aploka took silver.In U14 for boys Dāvids Špaks got till 2nd Round.U14 for girls both our students couldn’t get over 1st Round.In U16 for boys Renārs Grodskis took silver.In U16 for girls Elza Tomase and Patrīcija Špaka played in Final. August 19 and 20 in Liepaja Tennis Sport school took place E.Ernestsons and LTSS Prix for U9 and U10 age groups. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Ernests Brūders, Reinis Koņušaks, Krišjānis Mazais, Paula Gurecka and Karolīna Lāce in U9, Bogdans Kozlovs, Matīss Ozoliņš-Pese, Sabīne Vaidere, Alise Latiša, Anna Azarova, Elizabete Marta Hamitova, Anastasija Lomovska, Maija Alise Zvirbule, Ketlina Arone, Daniela Krušatina, Annete Skripka, Laura Kristiāna Sprūde and Elīna Vlasova in U10.In U9 for boys Krišjānis Mazais took 6th place, Ernests Brūders – 11th place, Reinis Koņušaks – 12th place.U9 for girls Paula Gurecka took 2nd place, Karolīna Lāce – 9th place.U10 for boys Bogdans Kozlovs took 2nd place, Matīss Ozoliņš-Pese – 3rd place.U10 for girls Anna Azarova won the tournament, 3rd place was taken by Ketlina Arone. Sabīne Vaidere finished 4th, Elizabete Marta Hamitova – 5th, Maija Alise Zvirbule – 7th, Anastasija Lomovska – 8th, Alise Latiša – 9th, Laura Kristiāna Sprūde – 10th, Daniela Krušatina – 13th, Elīna Vlasova – 15th and Annete Skripka – 16th.

From Riga with gold and two silvers

August 12, in Riga took place “Rīgas satiksmes tenisa kluba balvas izcīņa” (Riga Satiksme tennis club Prix) for U8, U9 and U10 age groups. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Orests Ronis and Emīlija Brūdere in U8, Timo Bertrams Tikums, Ernests Brūders, Paula Gurecka and Karolīna Lāce in U9, Elizabete Marta Hamitova, Laura Kristiāna Sprūde, Marija Lauva and Anna Azarova in U10.In U8 for boys Orests Ronis won all four subdivision games and in final tournament lost one out of three games and took 2nd place overall.

In U8 for girls Emīlija Brūdere gad one win in four games and took 10th place overall.

In U9 for boys Timo Bertrams Tikums lost all games in subdivision and finished 18th overall, similar situation had Ernests Brūders, who finished 19th overall.

In U9 for girls Karolīna Lāce in her subdivision won one out of three and finished 10th overall. Paula Gurecka won three out of four games and had the possibility to compete of overall victory. In Semifinal Paula lost, as well she lost in game for 3rd place, so Paula Gurecka finished 4th overall.In U10 for girls Laura Kristīana Sprūde could not win any game in her subdivision. Anna Azarova in her subdivision won two out of four games, but that wasn’t enough to get into Final round. Both Elizabete Marta Hamitova and Marija Lauva in their subdivisions won all games and got into the Final round. In Semifinal Marija and Elizabete both won their opponents, so they had to meet in the Final. In Final game Elizabete Marija Hamitova won with 4-2 and took the 1st place overall, but Marija Lauva finished 2nd overall.

Latvian adult championship has concluded, Rebeka Mertena almost gets absolute victory

From August 5 till 11 in the Liepaja Tennis Sport school courts took place Latvian Tennis Union organized “Latvian adult championship 2017”. The tournament was organized for Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles.At Men competition unfortunately none of the Liepaja Tennis Sport school representatives couldn’t manage to get into the 3rd Round, but at the Women competition into the 3rd Round managed to get in for out of eight 3rd Round Liepaja Tennis Sport school players – Rebeka Margareta Mertena, Patrīcija Špaka, Marta Pagraba and Elza Tomase. All our girls had to compete against each other. Rebeka Margareta Mertena with 6-1 7-5 won over Patrīcija Špaka, but Elza Tomase with 6-0 6-3 won over Marta Pagraba. As well in Semifinal both our students had to compete against each other. Rebeka Margareta Mertena won over Elza Tomase with 6-1 6-4 and got into the Final. In second Semifinal Madara Straume (individual) won over Kristiāna Zahare (Rīgas satiksmes TK) with 6-0 6-0. In intense Final Madara Straume won over our Rebeka Margareta Mertena with 6-3 6-4.Rebeka Margareta Mertena together with Madara Straume won the Doubles. Meanwhile, Rebeka playing together with her coach Daņils Kozlovs won the Mixed Doubles.Results:
