Two tournaments in Liepaja has concluded

July 23 and 24 in the tennis courts of Liepaja Tennis Sport school took place “Liepājas TSS un Prince balvas izcīņa” (Liepajas TSS and Prince Prix) for U18. In the tournament competed 16 participans. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Kārlis Vēberis, Ričards Špaks, Kristians Lasmanis, Kristers Skābe, Veronika Jociene, Paula Jankova, Karolīna Skābe, Dana Gribeļska, Alise Grundule, Anastasija Rižkova, Katrīna Lasmane, Elizabete Deglava and Vanesa Molodija.In boys competition competed only Liepaja Tennis Sport school students. 1st place was taken by Ričards Špaks, 2nd place by Kārlis Vēberis, but 3rd place by Kristers Skābe.In girls competition best success from our students had Veronika Jociene, who managed to get into the Final where she lost to Jekaterina Šagejeva (Enri TK), so Veronika Jociene finished 2nd, meanwhile 3rd place was taken by Sindija Manovska (ACB/VL tenisa skola).In July 25 and 26 took place “LiepājaS TSS un Prince balvas izcīņa” for U14 with 19 young tennis players. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Ričards Špaks, Kristians Lasmanis, Didzis Vārna, Gustavs Pagrabs, Karolīna Skābe, Elizabete Deglava, Evelīna Zalcmane, Kristiana Lagzdiņa, Valērija Januška and Ketlina Arone.At boys competition our Ričards Špaks took the victory in the tournament and won 1st place, 2nd place was taken by Georgijs Harjuzovs (Ventspils TK), but 3rd place was taken by our Didzis Vārna.At girls competition Evelīna Priedīte (TSS Open) took the 1st place, leaving in 2nd place our Karolīna Skābe, but 3rd place was taken by Aurelija Denisova (Orange Tennis).

Our Andis Aigars takes 2nd place in international seniors tournament

July 21 to 26 in Jūrmala (Latvia) took place ITF tennis tournament “Latvian Open Seniors Championships”. Liepaja and Liepaja Tennis Sport school in this tournament was represented by Andis Aigars in +40 age group.In the 1st round Andis with 6-4 6-1 won over Wojciech Lisek (Poland). In Quarterfinals with 6-7(6) 6-2 6-4 Andis won over Andris Krūmiņš (Teniss Rīgā Biedrība). In Semifinal Andis with 6-4 6-2 won over Aivars Linkevičs (Teniss Rīgā Biedrība) and granted himself a place in Final where Andis Aigars had to compete against Gerhard Fahlke (Germany) who at this moment is 2nd Ranked in World ranking for +40 age group. In Final with 6-0 6-1 the victory was taken by German Gerhard Fahlke, so our Andis Aigars finished 2nd in International seniors tennis tournament!

Patrīcija Špaka – European U16 vice-champion

 
July 17 to 23 in Moscow (Russia) took place European championship in tennis, where Latvian representatives Kamilla Bartone won European U16 champion title, but the European U16 vice-champion title was taken by Liepaja Tennis Sports school student Patrīcija Špaka! We congratulate our girls!First time in Latvian tennis history at the European championships final – Latvian duel! In Final Kamilla met with the other Latvian representative Patrīcija Špaka, that shows, that our girls are top level tennis players and have brought unseen success to Latvia. In Final Kamilla won over Patrīcija with 6-1 6-3. We thank to our captain Deniss Pavlovs for support!

In European championship competed the best players from each European country.

LTU cup leg in Liepaja has concluded

July 20 to 22 in the tennis courts of Liepaja Tennis Sports school took place 6th leg of LTU cup for U12. In the tournament competed 20 boys and 23 girls. Liepaja Tennis Sports school was represented by 14 young tennis players –  Ralfs Rukmanis, Artjoms Splenders, Gregors Lazdāns, Artjoms Poddubnijs, Matīss Ozoliņš-Pese, Marija Lauva, Valērija Januška, Paula Kapleite, Ketlina Arone, Žaklīna Buče, Elizabete Marta Hamitova, Sabīne Vaidere, Anastasija Lomovska and Anna Azarova.Medalists at boys competition:
1st place – Nikita Gavrilonoks (Orange Tennis)
2nd place – Maksims Kazancevs (Orange Tennis)
3rd place – Daņila Folkheims (Centrālais TK)Medalists at girls competition:
1st place – Sofija Zariņa (Mārupes TS)
2nd place – Madara Markeviča (Centrālais TK)
3rd place – Jasmīne Lūse (Mārupes TS)

Victory in LTU cup leg

July 16 and 17 in Jelgava took place 7th leg of LTU cup for U18. Liepaja Tennis Sports school was represented by Elza Tomase and Paula Jankova.Paula Jankova unfortunately finished the tournament already in 1st leg, by loosing with 0-6 2-6 to Agrita Gavronska (Mārupes TS). Meanwhile Elza Tomase in 1st round with 6-3 6-1 won over Angelīna Bļinova (TSS Open). In 2nd round with 6-1 6-0 Elza had an easy win over Sindija Manovska (ACB/VL TS). In Semifinal Elza with 6-4 6-4 won over Sabīne Rutlauka (Rīgas Satiksmes TK). In Final Elza met with Laura Slišāne (ACB/VL TS) and in three set game with 3-6 6-3 6-2 claimed the win, so Elza Tomase won in the 7th leg of LTU cup for U18.

From Riga with Bronze

July 14 and 15 in Riga took place “Rīgas satiksmes tenisa kluba balvas izcīņa” (Riga traffic tennis club Prix) for U8, U9 and U10. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by – Maija Jablonska and Viktorija Homutova in U8, Jeļizaveta Rižkova and Poļina Iļasova in U9.In U8 Viktorija Homutova finished 6th, meanwhile Maija Jablonska finished 4th.In U9 Poļina Iļasova finished 4th, but Jeļizaveta Rižkova finished 3rd.

Anastasija Sevastova visits Liepaja Tennis Sport school

July 11 in Liepaja Tennis Sport school was organized a meet and greet with former Liepaja Tennis Sport school student, WTA 21st ranked Anastasija Sevastova. In the event could participate all Liepaja Tennis Sport school students, their parents and other interested persons. Anastasija told about her tennis career and how it began in the Liepaja tennis courts, responded to questions and played together with children.

 

Victory in LTU cup leg

July 9 to 11 in Riga took place “Zālīša Cup 14″(“Zālīša kauss U14”), which was as well the 6th leg of LTU (Latvian Tennis Union) Cup for U14. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented by Evelīna Ķīvīte, Karolīna Skābe, Enija Paula Aploka, Dāvids Špaks, Dāvis Rolis and Ričards Špaks.

Ričards Špaks and Dāvis Rolis lost already in 1st round, but Dāvids Špaks in 1st round with 6-3 6-2 won over Maksims Kazancevs (Orange Tennis). In 2nd round Dāvids with 7-6(7) 6-1 won over Stefans Audriņš (Zauers TK), but in the game for the Final Dāvids with 4-6 1-6 lost to Gustavs Dambiņš (Tennis Pro Academy). In game for the 3rd place Dāvids Špaks in intense game against Artjoms Afanasjevs (Orange Tennis) with 6-4 4-6 6-7(4) lost and finished 4th.At girls competition Karolīna Skābe with 6-4 2-6 3-6 couldn’t win against Deniela Konstantinova (Biedrība Tennis Rīgā) in 1st round. Enija Paula Aploka in 1st round with 6-1 6-4 won over Alīna Krancmane (Biedrība Tennis Rīgā), but in the game for Semifinal Enija with 6-7(3) 1-6 lost to Angelīna Bļinova (TSS Open). Evelīna Ķīvīte in 1st round with 6-2 6-1 won over Jekaterina Babaiceva (Orange Tennis). In 2nd round with 6-3 6-4 she won over Ksenija Rage (Tennis Pro Academy). In Semifinal Evelīna with 6-3 6-1 continued to win, this time against Nikola Nikolajeva (Biedrība Tennis Rīgā). In Final Evelīna Ķīvīte with 0-6 6-1 6-2 had a victory against Angelīna Bļinova (TSS Open), so Evelīna Ķīvīte triumphed and took the 1st place in the 6th leg of LTU cup for U14.

Trainings in Bērzciems

In collaboration with tennis club “Garkalne” from June 25 to 28 in Bērzciems took place common training and competitions in tennis and in overall fitness for U9 and U12 age groups. In free time young tennis players became artists by painting pictures with the topic “Wonderland”, as well they enjoyed the nature around Bērzciems.

Our students compete in Lithuania and Estonia

From June 30 till July 7 Liepaja Tennis Sport school students Dāvids Špaks and Karolīna Skābe participated at the Tennis Europe tournament “Vilnius tennis academy cup 2018” in Vilnius (Lithuania). Both our students began with the Qualifiers. Dāvids Špaks with two wins granted himself a place in Main Draw, but unfortunately Karolīna Skābe couldn’t qualify to Main Draw.In the 1st round of Main Draw Dāvids with 6-0 7-6(5) won over Hendrik Katmuk (Estonia), but in the game for Quarterfinals Dāvids in intense game with 0-6 6-4 2-6 lost to Iegor Opanasenko (Ukraine).Meanwhile from July 3 to 7 in Tallinn (Estonia) two Liepaja Tennis Sport school students – Elza Tomase and Patrīcija Špaka competed in ITF Junior Circuit tournament “17th Tallink Cup 2018” for U18. Both our students began the tournament already in Main draw.Elza Tomase in 1st Round with 6-1 6-4 won over Laura Laanbek (Estonia), but in the game for Quarterfinal Elza with 2-6 4-6 lost to 2nd seeded Elizaveta Dementyeva (Russia).

Patrīcija Špaka in 1st round with 6-2 6-2 won over Sofiya Chekhlystova (Estonia). In 2nd round with 6-1 6-1 Patrīcija had an easy win over Elena Malykh (Russia). But in the game for the Semifinal Patrīcija with 4-6 4-6 lost to Lissi Kubre (Estonia).Both our students competed as well in the Doubles, but they had different partners. Elza Tomase played with Laura Slišāne (Latvia) and they lost already in the 1st round to Julia Jelen (Poland) and Marketa Panackova (Czech Republic). Meanwhile Patrīcija Špaka played together with Lissi Kubre (Estonia), who won over Patrīcija in the Singles tournament. In intense 1st round game Patrīcija and Lissi won over Russian pair Elena Malykh and Elizabet Anna Mintusova with 7-5 2-6 [10-8]. In the game for the Semifinal Patrīcija and Lissi with 6-4 7-5 won over other Russian pair – Lidiia Rasskovskaia and Daria Repina. For getting into the Final Patrīcijai and Lissi had to defeat Latvian pair Margarita Ignatjeva and Stefānija Poliščuk. With 3-6 1-6 Patrīcija and Lissi lost and couldn’t get into the Doubles Final.
