“Liepaja beach volleyball and beach tennis league 2018” prize giving ceremony for beach volleyball and beach tennis will take place in August 17, 2018 at 19:00 at the RedSunBuffet beach cafe. There will be snacks, drinks and cake.

This has to be a colossal beach tennis week, which will begin with concluding beach tennis tournament leg in August 15. But be careful, because:

From August 5 till 11 already second year in a row, at the tennis courts of Liepaja Tennis sport school took place “LR pieaugušo čempionāts 2018” (Latvian adult championship 2018). In the most important Latvian tournament participated 50 tennis players from all around the Latvia. Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Alise Vindiga, Rebeka Mertena, Elza Tomase, Veronika Jociene, Anastasija Rižkova, Paula Jankova, Alise Frickausa, Karolīna Skābe, Toms Sutris, Toms Rolis, Justs Jakovļevs, Matīss Šteinhards, Renārs Grodskis, Eduards Grodskis, Daņils Kozlovs, Andis Aigars, Mārtiņš Jaunzems, Martins Ivanovs and Gints Siliņš. In the tournament tennis players competed in Singles, Doubles and Mixed doubles.At the men competition best success from Liepaja Tennis sport school representatives showed Toms Rolis, Eduards Grodskis and Renārs Grodskis, who managed to get till the games for Semifinal. Unfortunately all three of our representatives couldn’t manage to get into the Semifinals. Meanwhile, former Liepaja Tennis sport school student Adrians Žguns managed to play his way into the Final, but Adrians chose not to play in the Final, so the Singles champion in men competition became Rūdolfs Mednis (ACB/VL tenisa skola), 2nd place was taken by Adrians Žguns (former Liepaja Tennis sport school student).In men Doubles till the Final managed to get Liepaja Tennis sport school representative Toms Rolis, who played together with Dāvis Vītols (Tennis Pro Academy). In Final with 6-0 6-1 succeeded and the Latvian Doubles champions became Rūdolfs Mednis (ACB/VL tenisa skola) and Gustavs Lukstiņš (ACB/VL tenisa skola), so Toms Rolis and Dāvis Vītols finished 2nd.In Mixed Doubles till the Final got only Liepaja Tennis sport school representatives – Rebeka Mertena with Toms Rolis competed against Veronika Jociene and Eduards Grodskis. In this our representatives Final duel best success with 6-3 6-3 had Rebeka Mertena and Toms Rolis, who became Latvian Mixed doubles champions 2018.In women Doubles till the Final got Liepaja Tennis sport school representative Rebeka Mertena who played together with Laura Slišāne (ACB/VL tenisa skola). Rebeka with Laura in Final competed against Margarita Ignatjeva (Rīgas satiksmes tenisa klubs) and Greta Veinberga (Rīgas satiksmes tenisa klubs). With 7-5 6-4 better success had Rīgas satiksmes tenisa klubs representatives Margarita Ignatjeva and Greta Veinberga, so Rebeka Mertena and Laura Slišāne finished 2nd.Women Singles Final was in Liepaja sign, because two Liepaja Tennis sport school representatives managed their wins to get into the Final, so our girls Rebeka Mertena and Elza Tomase had to compete against each other. Final game between our representatives took two days, because in the first day, when they got the 1st set till 6-6, game was interrupted by heavy rain, so the game had to be played in next day. In the next day even and intense Final game rain still managed to interrupt the game for short periods, bur our girls could manage to finish the Final game with the sunshine. In the sunny finish, sunny smile in her face had our Rebeka Mertena, because with 7-6(4) 3-6 6-4 Rebeka managed to win the Final game and became the Champion of Latvia 2018, but other our Finalist Elza Tomase finished 2nd. As informed, seven Liepaja Tennis sport school students Dāvids Špaks, Dāvis Rolis, Evelīna Ķīvīte, Enija Paula Aploka, Alise Vindiga, Elza Tomase and Valerijs Vorobjovs traveled to Germany, to participate in two international tournaments. About the 1st tournament we already informed, meanwhile, the 2nd tournament in Germany for our students took place from July 28 till August 5. In Ulm organized Tennis Europe tournament “Müller Junior Cup Ulm” was for U14 and U16.
In U14 for boys Dāvis Rolis in 1st round with 6-2 6-1 won over Constantin Barth (Germany) and in 2nd round with 6-1 6-1 Dāvis won over Tommaso Iotti (Italy). In the game for Quarterfinal Dāvis Rolis with 2-6 1-6 lost to 1st seeded Filip Apltauer (Czech Republic). Dāvids Špaks with to wind qualified for the Main draw, where in 1st round with 6-2 7-5 he won over Lasse Poertner (Germany), but in 2nd round Dāvids Špaks with 5-7 1-6 lost to 4th seaded Kilian Feldbausch (Switzerland).In U14 for girls Evelīna Ķīvīte finished the tournament already in 1st rount by loosing with 4-6 2-6 to Marie Vogt (Germany). Meanwhile Enija Paula Aploka in 1st round with 6-2 6-3 won over Maxine Sophie Kammerer (Germany), but in the 2nd round with 4-6 5-7 Enija Paula Aploka lost to 4th seeded Anastasia Grechkina (Russia).In U16 for boys Valerijs Vorobjovs in 1st round with 5-7 6-4 6-1 won over Fedor Richter (Germany), but in 2nd round with 3-6 4-6 Valerijs lost to Luis Dobelmann (Germany). Valerijs Vorobjovs together with Markuss Tions (Latvia) competed in Doubles tournament. Both Latvians managed to get till the Doubles Semifinal, where with 7-5 1-6 6-10 they lost to Frank Jonker (Netherlands) and Marko Topo (Serbia).In U16 for girls Alise Vindiga began with 2nd round where with 7-5 6-1 she won over Johanna Lippert (Germany). But in the game for Quarterfinals Alise Vindiga with 2-6 3-6 lost to Maralmaa Battsooj (Mongolia). 5th seeded Elza Tomase began with the 2nd round as well, where she with 6-1 6-1 had an easy win over Petra Mihokova (Czech Republic). In 3rd round Elza with 6-3 6-2 won over Annemarie Lazar (Germany). In Quarterfinal Elza Tomase with 6-2 6-4 won over Ginevra Parentini Vallega Montebruno (Italy). In Semifinal with 6-4 6-4 Elza won over 1st seeded Marta Belokrylova (Russia). In Final against 2nd seeded Nikol Palecek (Serbia) our Elza Tomase, who is student of Liepaja Tennis sport school coach Ina Kublačova, with 2-6 7-6(6) 7-5 took her 2nd victory in a row in international tournament! In August 1 took place the 4th leg of Beach Volleyball and tennis league “Liepaja” 2018, which was for mixed pairs. This time competed 22 mixed pairs.1st – 6th place finalists for mixed pairs tournament:

July 28 and 29 in the tennis courts of Liepaja Tennis sports school took place “Liepājas TSS un Prince balvas izcīņa” (Liepaja TSS and Prince Prix) for U10. At the tournament competed 24 young tennis players – 15 boys and 9 girls from Liepāja, Rīga, Jūrmala, Mārupe, Ikšķile, Jelgava and Cēsis. Liepaja Tennis sports school was represented by Bogdans Kozlovs, Timo Bertrams Tikums, Ernests Brūders, Krišjānis Mazais, Matīss Ozoliņš-Pese, Marks Freiborns, Laura Kristiāna Sprūde, Daniela Krušatina, Marija Lauva and Elizabete Marta Hamitova.1st place – Matīss Ozoliņš-Pese (Liepaja Tennis sports school)

Seven Liepaja Tennis sport school students – Dāvids Špaks, Dāvis Rolis, Evelīna Ķīvīte, Enija Paula Aploka, Alise Vindiga, Elza Tomase and Valerijs Vorobjovs, together with coach Olga Bordjugova went to Germany, to participate in two international tournaments.From July 21 to 29 Liepaja young tennis players competed in “TCW-Academy Junior International” for U14 and U16 which took place in Waiblingen.In U14 for boys Dāvids Špaks finished in 2nd round, meanwhile Dāvis Rolis finished already in 1st round. Dāvids Špaks and Dāvis Rolis together competed in Doubles, where they lost in the game for Quarterfinals.In U14 for girls Enija Paula Aploka and Evelīna Ķīvīte in Singles tournament both finished in 2nd round. They together competed in Doubles, but they lost already in the 1st round.In U16 for boys Valerijs Vorobjovs finished already in 1st round, but in Doubles, playing together with Phil Exner (Germany), they finished in Quarterfinals.
U16 for girls Alise Vindiga finished in Quarterfinals, but Elza Tomase won the Singles champions title!Elza Tomase and Alise Vindiga together competed in Doubles. They managed to get till the Final, but unfortunately they lost, so they finished in 2nd place in the tournament!
Already now our students together with coach are in other German city called Ulm, where they will compete in “Müller Junior Cup Ulm” for U14 and U16. We wish a lot of success!
July 21 and 22 in Ventspils took place “Ventspils balvas izcīņa” (Ventspils prix) for U8 and U9. Liepaja Tennis Sport school was represented with 18 young tennis players – Gustavs Siliņš, Leonards Ozoliņš, Olivers Arons, Gabriela Putra, Maija Jablonska, Hanna Āboltiņa, Beatrise Varkale, Marina Poļikarpova, Darja Korčevska, Emīlija Brūdere, Keitija Petrovica and Viktorija Homutova in U8 and Damirs Livanskis, Orests Ronis, Jeļizaveta Rižkova, Poļina Iļasova, Karolīna Lāce and Paula Gurecka in U9.
In U8 for boys our Leonards Ozoliņš finished 2nd overall. In U8 for girls our Darja Korčevska finished 3rd. In U9 Orests Ronis finished 2nd. And in U9 Paula Gurecka took the victory in the tournamnet, but Poļina Iļasova finished 2nd.
