Ticket sale for Davis Cup by BNP Paribas duel Latvia – Austrija has started

From September 12th to 14th at Vidzeme Olympic center in Valmiera will take place Davis Cup by BNP Paribas duell in tennis where team Latvia will meet team Austria. From August 25th at “Biļešu serviss” (Ticket serviss) is possible to by tickets for this duel.

Davis cup is team competition in tennis, and it began in year 1900. This year in different levels participated teams from 122 countries, but team Latviais competing at Europe- Africa zone 1st group. First duel took place February in Slovakia, where our tennis players lost to team Slovakia. Now we have to continue our games for staying in this group. We have to compete against team Austria, who as well lost to team Slovakia. Till now team Latvia and team Austria haven’t met at Davis Cup. At this moment in Davis Cup ranking team Latvia is in 39th place, but team Austria – 21st place.

Competition draw decided, that duel from September 12th to 14th has to take place in Latvia. The venue for this duel this year will take place in Valmiera – Vidzeme Olympic center. As in previous home games, the games will be played on special layed hard court. Official team players the captains will announce 10 days before duel – September 2nd. In February against Slovakia under captain Kārlis Lejnieks lead team Latvia was represented by Andis Juška, Mārtiņš Podžus, Jānis Podžus and Artūrs Lazdiņš.

Duel between team Latvia and team Austria will consist from 5 individual games. Friday from 15:00 will be first two single games, Saturday at 15:00 double game, but Sunday from 14:00 remaining two single games. Match sequence will be set on September 11th, during official draw.

From today at all „Biļešu serviss” (Ticket service) selling points and in internet (www.bilesuserviss.lv) has began ticket sale for the duel. Ticket prices (depending of seat category) for all three game days will cost 10, 15 or 20 euro, but for only one game day – 5, 7 or 10 euro. Ticket prices for children – 2 euro for day.
