In May Liepaja young tennis players reached good results

In last few weeks Liepaja Tennis sport school students competed in various local, national and international competition with various results. Elza Tomase took Silver in international Singles tournament, meanwhile Patrīcija Špaka won international Doubles tournament, while Dāvis Rolis and Elza Tomase finished 2nd in international Doubles.

International competitions

May 4-12 in Viljandi (Estonia) took place Tennis Europe “Airok Viljandi Open” for U16. Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Dāvis Rolis.In 1st round Dāvis with 6-1 6-2 won over Sten Hiiesalu (Estonia), but in 2nd round with 1-6 2-6 Dāvis lost to Andre Toomvali (Estonia).

May 19-26 in Estonian capital Tallinn took place Tennis Europe “Estonian Junior Open” for U14 with participation of our Dāvis Rolis.

Dāvis in 1st round with 6-3 6-1 won over Georg Strasch (Estonia). In 2nd round with 6-4 6-2 win over Emil Matikainen (Finland). In game for Semifinal Dāvis lost with 2-6 6-7(3) to 2nd seeded Tomasz Berkieta (Poland). Dāvis Rolis together with Denis Maijorov (Estonia) competed in Doubles. Latvian Estonian pair managed to get to the Final, where unfortunately with 5-7 0-6 they lost to Gustavs Dambiņš (Latvia) and Marc Majdandzic (Germany). So Dāvis Rolis finished 2nd in Doubles.

May 13-18 in Latvian city Ventspils took place ITF Juniors “Ventspils Open by Babolat”. Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Valerijs Vorobjovs, Evelīna Ķīvīte, Elza Tomase, Alise Vindiga.Best result had our Elza by getting into the Final against Stefānija Poļiščuka. With 3-6 0-6 our Elza Tomase lost and finished 2nd in ITF Juniors tournament.Elza Tomase together with Sofiya Chekhlystova (Estonia) competed in Doubles and they got till the Final against Latvian pair Margarita Ignatjeva and Stefānija Poļiščuka. With 3-6 3-6 Latvian pair won so our Elza Tomase with Estonian Sofiya Chekhlystova finished 2nd in Doubles. So at the end our Elza Tomase in the ITF Juniors tournament had double Silver.

May 20-25 in Estonian capital Tallinn took place  ITF Juniors “Estonian Junior Open” where Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Valerijs Vorobjovs, Patrīcija Špaka and Elza Tomase.

Valerijs Vorobjovs began with Qualifiers and couldn’t manage to qualify for Main draw. Meanwhile at girls competition Patrīcija Špaka in 1st round lost to 1st seeded Weronika Baszak (Poland). Elza Tomase lost in 2nd round to 3rd seeded Aleksandra Julia Jelen (Poland) with 4-6 2-6. Patrīcija Špaka together with Kristina Dmitruk (Belarus) competed in Doubles. They managed to get till the Final against Margarita Ignatjeva (Latvia) and Elizaveta Dementyeva (Russia). With 6-3 6-3 victory in Doubles tournament was celebrated by our Patrīcija Špaka and Belarussian Kristina Dmitruk.

Younger tennis players

May 18 in Jūrmala took place LTS / Kings College Spring tennis festival for U10 in Doubles. Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Liepaja pair Jeļizaveta Rižkova and Karolīna Lāce, Meanwhile Paula Gurecka played with Keisija Bērziņa (Tennis Pro Academy), Orests Ronis with Vestards Elsbergs (TC Ādaži), but Timo Bertrams Tikums with Anna Šteinberga (Ventspils TK).

Best result had our Paula Gurecka with Keisiju Bērziņu from Riga by finishing 6th. Meanwhile Ronis-Elsbergs finished 9th, Tikums-Šteinberga – 11th, but Rižkova-Lāce finished 16th.

May 18 and 19 in Jūrmala took place LTS / Kings College Spring tennis festival for U8, U9 and U10 in Singles. Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Markuss Gūža, Darja Korčevska, Marina Poļikarpova and Ance Skripka in U8, Olivers Arons in U9, Timo Bertrams Tikums, Orests Ronis, Jeļizaveta Rižkova, Karolīna Lāce, Alise Latiša and Paula Gurecka in U10.In U8 our Darja Korčevska got into till the game for 3rd place, where she won with 11-3. So Darja Korčevska finished with Bronze. Ance Skripka in her first competition finshed 10th, but Marina Poļikarpova – 18th. Meanwhile at boys competition Markuss Gūža finshed 15th.

In U9 Olivers finished 16th.In U10 Orests Ronis finished 18th, but Timo Bertrams Tikums – 26th. At girls competition Alise Latiša and Paula Gurecka won in their subdivisions and continued to compete for victory in tournament. At the end Paula Gurecka finished 5th, but Alise Latiša finished 2nd in the tournament.

May 25 and 26 in Liepaja took place season opening tournament in mini tennis “Liepājas Tenisa sporta skolas meistarsacīkstes” for U8, U9 and U10. Of course in the home tournament Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented with a lot of young tennis players.Results

May 18 and 19 in Liepaja took place Amber Wilson Prix for U12. Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Matīss Ozoliņš-Pese, Bogdans Kozlovs, Ernests Brūders, Marks Freiborns, Marija Lauva, Sabīne Vaidere, Ketlina Arone, Elizabete Marta Hamitova, Anastasija Lomovska, Evelīna Poikāne, Annete Skripka, Laura Kļaviņa and Daniela Krušatina.At boys competition best result had Bogdans Kozlovs and Matīss Ozoliņš-Pese by getting into the Semifinal, where they had to compete against each other. With 6-3 6-4 place in Final won Bogdans Kozlovs. Meanwhile Matīss Ozoliņš-Pese in game for 3rd place with 6-2 6-0 had an easy win over Kristofers Krūmiņš (Mārupes TS), so Matīss Ozoliņš-Pese took Bronze. In Final Bogdans Kozlovs played against Kirils Sokolovs (Tennis Pro Academy). With 6-0 6-3 victory in Amber Wilson Prix was won by our Bogdans Kozlovs.At girls competition our Marija Lauva got into the Semifinal. In game for Final Marija with 2-6 0-6 lost to 1st seeded Adelina Lačinova (TSS Opena). In game for 3rd place against 2nd seeded Daniela Puiša (Enri TK) Marija Lauva with 2-6 6-4 6-0 could win, so Marija Lauva finished 3rd in Amber Wilson Prix.
