Before midsummer celebration in the tennis courts of Liepaja Tennis sport school took place Tennis Europe tournament for U14 “Liepaja International Tournament U14” with big number of participants. Our Dāvis Rolis in Singles took 3rd place, but in Doubles he celebrated victory, while Enija Paula Aploka took 3rd place in Doubles.In the tournament competed 96 young tennis players from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Belarus, Russia, Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Italy and Japan. Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Enija Paula Aploka, Dāvis Rolis and Artjoms Splenders.Artjoms Splenders began with qualifiers, but couldn’t manage to qualify for the Main draw. Meanwhile Dāvis Rolis was 6th seeded and in the 1st round he won over Kevin Lempu (Estonia) with 6-0 6-1. In the 2nd round Dāvis won with an intense 5-7 7-6(4) 7-6(6) over Artur Yurkevich (Belarus). In Quarterfinal Dāvis had a walkover. In Semifinal, Dāvis played against 4th seeded Tikhon Fedorov (Belarus) and lost with 3-6 4-6 so Dāvis Rolis finished 3rd. At boys competition victory was celbrated by Tikhon Fedorov (Belarus).At girls competition Enija Paula Aploka in 1st round met against 5th seeded Sara Saito (Japan) and unfortunatelly lost with 1-6 2-6. In girls competition victory was celebrated by Hanna Tsitavets (Belarus).Enija Paula Aploka played together with Emma Namnieks (Estonia) in Doubles. As they were seeded 2nd, they began the tournament in the 2nd round, where with 7-5 6-1 they got into the Semifinal. In the game for Final Enija and Emma competed against Pair from Japan – Hayu Kinoshita and Sara Saito. With 2-6 1-6 Enija and Emma lost, so at the end Enija Paula Aploka and Emma Namnieks finished 3rd. In Girls Doubles victory was celebrated by Hayu Kinoshita and Sara Saito from Japan.In Boys Doubles our Dāvis Rolis competed together with Villem Aadamsoo (Estonia). As they were seeded 2nd, they began with 2nd round. In the game for Semifinal Dāvis and Villem were in front with 3-0, when the opponents withdrawed. In Semifinal Dāvis with Villem competed against Lithuanians Faustas Kuliusas and Haroldas Kulnys. By winning with 6-4 6-1 Dāvis and Villem granted a place in Final, where they met with 1st seeded Belarussians Tikhon Fedorov and Artur Yurkevich. With 6-4 7-6(4) Doubles victory was celebrated by our Dāvis Rolis and Estionan Villem Aadamsoo.
