Patrīcija Špaka takes first WTA ranking point in Parnu

November 4- 10 in Estonian city Pernu takes place ITF World Tennis Tour tournament “Paf Open 2019”. At the tournament participates Liepaja Tennis sport school student Patrīcija Špaka, who took first WTA ranking point in her career.Patrīcija began the tournament with qualifiers, where with 6-1 6-2 she won over Estonian Andrea Roots and with 6-1 6-2  victory over Russian Elizaveta Kuznetsova. By winning all games in the Qualifiers, Patrīcija granted her spot in Main draw.

In the 1st round of Main draw Patrīcija had an easy win with 6-1 6-0 over Russian Arina Petrova, but in the game for Quarterfinal Patrīcija unfortunately lost with 1-6 2-6 to 2nd seeded Suzan Lamens from Netherlands. So at the end our 17 years old Patrīcija Špaka took the 1st won game in ITF Main draw and took the 1st WTA ranking point.

After lost game in the Singles Main draw Patrīcija will be able to fully concentrate to Doubles tournament, where she is playing together with Iveta Daujotaite from Lithuania. They already granted themselves game for Semifinal, by winning an intense Quarterfinals game with 5-7 7-5 [10-6] over pair from Belarus – Tatsiana Sasnouskaya and Kseniya Yersh. Patrīcija partner in Doubles Iveta won’t continue to play in Singles, because she lost already unfortunately in the 1st round of Main draw.

In Liepaja will take place ITF tournament

November 27 till December 1 in the LOC Tennis Hall will take place Liepaja Tennis sport school organized ITF tournament “Liepaja International by Babolat” with participants from all around the world.At the moment the young tennis players have shown interest from all around the world – Great Britain, Poland, Belarus, Russia, Romania, Hungary, Sweden, Germany, Slovakia, Italy, France, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Serbia, Belgium, Netherlands, Taiwan, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Finland, Ukraine, Norway, Spain, Croatia, Moldova, Ireland, Denmark, Cyprus, Hong Kong and of course Latvia. At the tournament will compete 96 young tennis players who will be accepted according to their ranking. Qualifiers will take place already in November 25 and 26.

“Liepaja International by Babolat” is ITF 3rd category tournament and it means, that the competitors will be from the ITF ranking Top 100.

With our Elza Tomase victory ITF Juniors tournament has concluded

August 30 till September 6 at the Liepaja Tennis sport school tennis courts took place ITF Juniors tournament for U18 “Prince Cup Liepaja 2019”. At girls competition victory was celebrated by our student Elza Tomase.In the tournament competed 96 young tennis players from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Armenia, Russia, Poland, Belarus, Finland, Greece, Sweden, Ukraine and Ireland. Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Valērijs Vorobjovs, Dāvis Rolis, Dāvids Špaks, Elza Tomase, Karolīna Skābe, Alise Vindiga, Paula Jankova, Anastasija Rižkova un Evelīna Ķīvīte.At boys competition our Dāvids Špaks began with with Qualifiers, but in the deciding game he lost and didn’t get into the Main draw. Meanwhile, our Valērijs Vorobjovs and Dāvis Rolis began the competition in Main draw, but unfortunately lost already in the 1st round. Victory of the tournament was celebrated by 3rd seeded Petr Bar Biryukov (Russia) and in 2nd place he left Vilius Gaubas (Lithuania).In boys doubles our Dāvis Rolis and Dāvids Špaks by playing together lost already in the 1st round to the next winners of the tournament. Meanwhile our Valērijs Vorobjovs played together with Roberts Jaričevskis from Latvia and got till the Semifinal, where they lost and finished in split 3rd place. Victory in boys Doubles was celebrated by Belarussian pair Mikhail Malakhovich and Daniil Ostapenkov. In 2nd place Edas Butvilas (Lithuania) and Ivan Kremenchutskyi (Ukraine).In girls Singles 1st round of Main draw from our students passed 1st seeded Elza Tomase and Evelīna Ķīvīte, who finished the tournament in the 2nd round. Meanwhile Elza Tomase with a good game managed to get till the Final where with 7-6(5) 6-4 she celebrated victory at the ITF Juniors tournament. In 2nd place finished 2nd seeded Klaudija Bubelyte (Lithuania).In girls Doubles our Alise Vindiga played together with Elizabete Kļavinska from Latvia and the finished in the game for Semifinal. As well in the game for Semifinal lost our Elza Tomase who played together with Yeva Avetisyan (Armenia). Victory in girls Doubles was celebrated by Belarussian Maryia Stsetsevich and Hanna Tsitavets. In Liepaja concluded Tennis Europe tournament for U12

August 25 – 30 took place Tennis Europe tournament “Liepaja International Tournament U12”. In the tournament competed 85 young tennis players from Europe. Liepaja representative Marija Lauva finished 2nd in Doubles with partner from Lithuania.Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Bogdans Kozlovs, Laura Kristiāna Sprūde, Marija Lauva, Laura Kļaviņa and Elizabete Marta Hamitova.At boys competition our Bogdans Kozlovs began with Qualifiers where he granted place in Main Draw. In his Subdivision Bogdans won one out of three games and didn’t continue at the playoff. Victory at the boys competition celebrated Olav Berg (Norway), who began the tournament with qualifiers.At girls competition none of our girls managed to get into the Final 8. Victory at the girls competition celebrated Maria Golovina (Russia).Our girls competed in the Doubles as well. Best result had our Marija Lauva who played together with Austeja Vasiliauskaite (Lithuania). Marija and Austeja got till the Final, where they lost to the Doubles winners Poļina Koroļova (Latvia) and Anna Perelman (Russia). Meanwhile in boys Doubles victory took Julius Aleksandrovas (Lithuania) and Maxim Vlasov (Russia).More pictures from the tournament are available:

In ITF Juniors in Riga triumphs our girls

August 20 – 24 in Riga took place ITF Juniors tournament “Riga Open – Inspired by tennis”. Victory in Singles was celebrated by our Elza Tomase, but in Doubles by our Patrīcija Špaka.

Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Valērijs Vorobjovs, Alise Vindiga, Patrīcija Špaka and Elza Tomase.Valērijs Vorobjovs began in Main draw, where in 1st round with 3-6 6-4 6-3 he won over Igor Yanusckevich (Belarus), but in 2nd round with 3-6 2-6 Valērijs lost to 3rd seeded Matthew Rutter (Great Britain). In Doubles Valērijs Vorobjovs played together with Markuss Tions (Latvia), and they finished in the game for Semifinal with 4-6 3-6 to the next Doubles winners from Lithuania Vilius Gaubas and Pijus Vaitiekunas.

Alise Vindiga began with the Qualifiers and in the 1st round with 6-0 6-0 won over Anna Marija Fedorova (Latvia), but in intense Qualifiers 2nd round against Hanna Serhel (Belarus) with 4-6 6-3 [10-12] for our Alise the tournament was over.Patrīcija Špaka was 1st seeded in Singles, but Elza Tomase was 3rd seeded. Both our girls managed to get till the Semifinal, where they had to meat head-to-head. With 7-6(5) 6-1 place in Final celebrated Elza Tomase. In Final Elza met with other Latvian, 4th seeded Laura Slišāne. With a very dominating game with 6-0 6-1 the victory in ITF Juniors Singles tournament was celebrated by our Elza Tomase, but Patrīcija Špaka finished in split 3rd place.Patrīcija Špaka and Elza Tomase competed in Doubles as well, but they had their own partners in Doubles. Elza Tomase played together with Vanessa Ersoz (Sweden) and got till the Semifinal, where in intense game with 6-2 6-7(2) [7-10] they lost to Tatiana Barkova (Russia) and Klaudija Bubelyte (Lithuania). So at the end Elza Tomase finished split 3rd in Doubles. Meanwhile Patrīcija Špaka in Doubles competed together with other Latvian – Stefānija Poļiščuka and got till the Final, where they met with the Elza and Vanessa defeaters. With 6-2 6-2 Latvian girls celebrated victory, so Patrīcija Špaka won in the Doubles tournament.

In Liepaja will take place Tennis Europe tournament for U12

August 26 – 30 in the Liepaja Tennis sport school tennis courts will take place Tennis competition “Liepaja International Tournament U12”, with participants from all around the world.At the moment the intent to compete has shown 109 young tennis players from Estonia, Turkey, Belarus, Lithuania, Russia, Georgia, France, Germany, Ukraine, Thailand, Norway and of course Latvia. In the tournament will compete 92 tennis players decided by their ranking.

Patrīcija Špaka triumphs in Doubles in Germany

In beginning of August Patrīcija Špaka and Dāvids Špaks competed in international tournaments in Germany. Patrīcija Špaka celebrated victory in Doubles, when played together with representative from Italy.August 5-10 in German city Gladbeck took place ITF Juniors tournament “VAN DER VALK HOTEL GLADBECK Junior Cup powered by BABOLAT”, where Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Patrīcija Špaka. In Singles Patrīcija got till the Quarterfinal, where with 6-4 3-6 1-6 she lost to 1st seeded Amarissa Kiara Toth (Hungary). Meanwhile in Doubles Patrīcija Špaka played together with Arianna Zucchini (Italy) and managed to get till the Final, where with 6-2 4-6 [10-8] they celebrated victory over Julia Avdeeva (Russia) and Selin Lidya Sepken (Turkey). So our Patrīcija Špaka took the victory in international Doubles.

August 3-11 in German city Augsburg took place Tennis Europe tournament “Bavarian Junior Open 2019”, where Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Dāvids Špaks. In Singles Dāvids got till the 3rd Round, where for game for Quarterfinals with 0-6 4-6 he lost to 1st seeded Carlos Guerrero Alvarez (Spain).

In Liepaja will take place ITF Juniors tournament

September 2 to 6 at the Liepaja Tennis sport school tennis courts will take place ITF Juniors tournament “Prince Cup Liepaja 2019” for U18 with participants from all over the world.At the moment the possible 96 participants will represent following countries – Portugal, Belarus, Poland, Russia, Israel, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Croatia, Finland, Lithuania, Germany, Ukraine, Serbia, Great Britain, Belgium, Estonia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Denmark, Spain, Norway and of course Latvia.

In Liepaja has concluded international beach tennis tournament for amateurs

July 27 and 28 in the beach tennis courts by the new Liepaja Tennis hall took place international beach tennis tournament for amateurs “Liepāja Open” with participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Russia.Overall in the tournament competed 66 beach tennis pairs and it took place in two levels – Advanced and Intermediate. In the Advanced level competed men pairs and mixed pairs, but in the Intermediate level competed men pairs, women pairs and mixed pairs.In the Advanced level men pair competition victory was celebrated by Ģirts and Andris Antonovs, in the 2nd place came Elans Strazdiņš and Martins Uglevs, but in 3rd – Nikita Mackevics and Andrejs Bersenevs. Meanwhile in mixed pair competition victory was taken by Nikita Ribakovs and Zane Vilnīte, in 2nd place Sigita Nezduļkina and Kaspars Daugulis, but 3rd place was taken by Edīte Daugule and Ģirts Antonovs.In the Intermediate level men pair competition victory was taken by Pāvels Semencuks and Aleksandrs Fjodorovs, in 2nd place finished Elans Zīverts and Miks Jaunzems, but in 3rd place – Dmitrijs Scetinins and Vadims Svjastins. At women competition 1st place won Edīte Daugule and Laura Prikule, 2nd place – Anastasija Volgina and Aleksandra Kovalova, 3rd place Linda Priekule and Madara Berga. Meanwhile in Mixed pair competition 1st place was taken by Elans Strazdiņš and Madara Berga, 2nd place – Aiga Krīgere and Aleksandrs Fjodorovs, but in 3rd place Andrejs Bersenevs and Aleksandra Kulbacka.Pictures from the competition are here.
