December 1 in Liepaja, LOC Tennis hall concluded ITF Grade 3 tournament “Liepaja International by Babolat” for U18. Our Patrīcija Špaka took split 3rd place in Singles, but in Doubles she celebrated victory.ITF Juniors Grade 3 tournament meant, that there will participate young tennis players from ITF TOP 100 ranking. At the tournament competed 96 young tennis players from 21 countries – Latvia, Poland, Belarus, Belgium, Netherlands, Russia, France, Serbia, Great Britain, Finland, Italy, Slovakia, Sweden, Armenia, Lithuania, Estonia, Switzerland, Denmark, Bulgaria, Ukraine and USA. Liepaja Tennis sport school was represented by Patrīcija Špaka, Elza Tomase, Alise Vindiga, Evelīna Ķīvīte, Karolīna Skābe, Dāvis Rolis, Dāvids Špaks and Valerijs Vorobjovs.At boys competition our Dāvis Rolis and Dāvids Špaks began the competition with qualifiers, but unfortunately they didn’t manage to qualify for the Main draw, where the tournament began our Valerijs Vorobjovs. Unfortunately Valerijs couldn’t overcome the 1st round of Main draw. At boys competition the victory was celebrated by 1st seeded Kārlis Ozoliņš from Latvia, who took the title, by winning in Final with 3-6 6-3 6-4 over 2nd seeded Jerome Kym from Switzerland.In boys Doubles none of our boys couldn’t overcome the 1st round. Victory in Doubles was celebrated by Russians – Petr Bar Biryukov and Petr Kapuskin, by winning in Final with 6-2 6-2 over Rūdolfs Aksenoks (Latvia) and Lui Maxted (Great Britain).In girls competition our Evelīna Ķīvīte and Karolīna Skābe began with Qualifiers, but like Liepaja boys, they couldn’t manage to qualify for the Main draw. Alise Vindiga in Main draw lost already in the 1st round to 4th seeded Amelie Van Impe from Belgium, who got into the Final. Meanwhile our 6st seeded Elza Tomase concluded the tournament in the game for Semifinal, where she lost with 3-6 3-6 to 2nd seeded Kristina Dmitruk (Belarus), who later took the tournament victory. Our 1st seeded Patrīcija Špaka concluded the tournament with the game for Final, where with 4-6 2-6 she lost to Amelie Van Impe. So our Patrīcija Špaka finished in split 3rd place. At girls Singles competition victory was celebrated by Kristina Dmitruk (Belarus) who with 6-3 6-1 over Amelie Van Impe took the win in Final.In girls Doubles best success from our players had Patrīcija Špaka who played together with Singles winner Kristina Dmitruk from Belarus. Both girls got till the Final, where they won with 6-4 6-1 over Anastasiya Komar (Belarus) and Nikol Palecek (Serbia). So in the Liepaja tournament our Patrīcija Špaka together with Belarussian Kristina Dmitruk celebrated victory in girls Doubles.From the tournament participants we heard good words about the quality of the tournaments, as well as about the LOC Tennis hall and it’s possibilities.
