In Liepaja took place Tennis Europe “Liepaja International” for U14

From 11 to 17 June, Tennis Europe “Liepaja International” for the U14 age group took place on the tennis courts of Liepāja Jurmala Park. Liepāja tennis player Anna Azarova took the 2nd place in the doubles competition.

A total of 73 young tennis players from different European countries took part in the tournament. Liepāja Tennis sport school was represented by Gustavs Brižs, Bogdans Kozlovs, Marija Lauva, Alise Latiša, Paula Gurecka, Anna Azarova, Elizabete Marta Hamitova, Evelīna Poikāne, Laura Kļaviņa and Jeļizaveta Rižkova.

Bogdans Kozlovs was the most successful in the boys’ competition from Liepaja, who finished the tournament in the game for the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Liepaja players did not make it to the semifinals in Doubles.

At boys Singles tournament victory was taken by the 1st seeded Lenny Petit from France. Runner-up was Rihards Neimanis from Latvia.

At boys Doubles, the 1st place was taken by Krisofer Karis from Estonia and Rihards Neimanis from Latvia. Runner-ups were Lenny Petit from France with Juliusz Marcin Stanczyk from Poland

At the girls competition, best result from Liepaja had Anna Azarova. In Singles she got till the game for Semifinals, while in Doubles together with Olesja Demcenkova from Latvia they got till the Final, where they lost.

Victory in the girls Singles was taken by the 1st seeded Latvian tennis player Adelina Lacinova, while the 2nd place was by the 3rd seeded Marie Johanna Lapimaa from Estonia. In the Doubles tournament was won by Latvian pair Kamilla Cernousova and Adelina Lacinova. While in the 2nd place came other Latvian pair – Olesja Demcenkova (from Riga) and Anna Azarova (from Liepaja).

Liepaja International was organized in cooperation with the Latvian Tennis Union, Liepaja Municipality, Venden and Liepaja Olympic Center.
