POSTPONED – In Liepaja will take place ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour W60 tournament “Liepaja Open”

TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED TILL JULY 11 WEEK. MORE INFORMATION WILL FOLLOW.

May 22 till 29 in the Liepaja Tennis courts in Jūrmalas park (Seaside park) will take place ITF W60 category Women’s World Tennis Tour tournament “Liepaja Open” with the support of Liepaja municipality, Latvian Tennis union and ITF.

First similar tournament in Liepaja at LOC Tennis Hall took place in January 2020 with the W15 category tournament. In the summer of 2021, higher level – W25 category tournament took place in the tennis courts at Seaside park. However, the ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour W60 category tournament in May this year is the next step in the ITF tennis tournament hierarchy.

“Liepaja Open” will start with the Qualification round on May 22, but the Main Draw will start on May 23. Tennis players from all over the world are expected to take part in the tournament, some of whom are also in the Top 200 of the WTA ranking.

The Doubles final will take place in May 28, while the high point of the tournament will be on May 29 at 11:00 with the Singles final.
