Tennis Europe Liepaja International Tournament U12 has concluded

On September 4th in Liepāja concluded Tennis Europe Liepaja International Tournament U12 with participants from 12 countries. The furthest participant came from USA.At girls competition in Main draw from 32 participants 13 were from Latvia, 3 of them were from Liepaja – Evelīna Ķīvīte, Karolīna Skābe and Paula Jankova. Best success had Evelīna, who won in 2 games, but after then she lost to Dari Sakhanova from Russia with 6/1 6/0. Tournaments winner in girls competition was Jana Kolodynska from Belarus, who in final won over new Danish tennis player Sillie Larsen with 6/0 6/3.At boys competition Latvia was represented by 8 players, 2 of them were from Liepaja – Dāvids Špaks and Dāvis Rolis. Better success had Dāvids Špaks, who won 2 games, but in third he lost to the new tournament champion from Lithuania – Ainius Sabaliauskas with 6/0 6/0. Ainius in final at a hard and intense game won over American representative Ellis Short with 6/0 2/6 7/5.In Doubles girl competition won pair from Belarus – Jana Kolodynska and Hanna Vinahradava who in final won over Estonian girls Anet Angelika Koskel and Karola Suviste with 6/2 6/2. Unfortunately all girls from Liepaja already lost in the first Doubles games. Champion title in boys Doubles competition won pair from Estonia Andre-Remi Jakobi and Hugo Kristianson, who in final won over Estonian-American pair Mark Lajal and Ellis Short with 0/6 6/2 11/9.In Liepaja has already begun the next big tennis event – ITF tournament, which in Liepaja takes place for the first time. ITF Liepaja International Tournament has started with qualification, where are participating tennis players from 15 countries, to win and take place in the best 8 who will join the rest in the Main draw.All pictures from the tournament can be found in “Gallery“.
